In Albanel on the third day of my tour I took an excursion north, away from the Veloroute, to ride from Girardville along Riviere Mistassini on the Au Fil des Rivieres trail. The road to the trail head in Girardville was as straight as shown in the maps for almost twenty kilometers. There was little traffic and the drivers were friendly so the ride was safe even though there were no shoulders.
